Though Anise is a shapely young woman, she does nothing to flaunt her appearance. Her curves are always modestly covered and her mannerisms typically give others the impression she is more the inhibited type. Her green hair is long and straight, its length reaching all the way down her back. Bangs have been cut to end just above her round, golden eyes, and her porcelain skin is pale cream in color. She is slender and rather delicate looking, with a doll-like appearance and dainty limbs, standing five feet six inches tall. She wears many different styles of clothing, and does pull her hair back in twin tails or a braid from time to time. On her braver days she'll wear shorter skirts, but other than that she prefers to keep most of her skin hidden. Her voice is soft and light and she has the strong scent of flowers about her, most likely from spending so much time around grass types. Thin scars rake across her forearms, however they aren't terribly noticeable, one would have to be examining her rather closely to catch sight of them.

History:

Anise was a spoiled little thing, despite her humble background. Her family never had much money, they didn't own a big house, she never had many toys, but they would give anything to make their little second happy. Anise's elder sister, Fennel, was much louder and tougher than her withdrawn little sister. While this certainly wasn't considered a sin, Fennel was always just Fennel, while Anise was the child that almost didn't make it. Due to the fact she nearly died as an infant, she was smothered with gifts and affection once she recovered from her illness. Fennel distanced herself from her, and though they did fight from time to time, the two were neither terribly concerned with each other one way or the other.

Anise's first pokemon was a pidgey, though after losing its first battle to her sister's much stronger ivysaur, the bird seemed to panic and lash out against its trainer. Anise became fearful of birds and asked that the pokemon be released. She continued to train with her father's pokemon, and when she turned ten started out on her own pokemon journey. She defeated the first three gyms but became bored with her home region, and decided to sail off to Johto. In Johto things changed for her. Being unable to visit her family she was not able to be spoiled as much. Having to fend for herself strengthened her, and she lost her arrogant, stuck-up attitude. Gyms were not her focus in Johto, though. Training was. She traveled with a breeder, learning what she could from her.

The advice she had to give was really quite useful, even to a trainer. However as the years passed the breeder got old, and eventually she became sick. Being the only person that Anise felt connected to at the time, she battled often to work up the money to pay the expenses for both of them, and did what she could to help take care of her. But her efforts were in vain, and the woman finally died. Anise decided to start over.

With a new region looking for trainers and no pokemon that truly belonged to her, she figured the best thing to do would be to head there. Though she heard it was under the watch of what sounded to be a madman, she saw it as her only chance and really had no choice but to go for it. She sent her father's pokemon back to him and told him of her decision. Though he disagreed with her, he knew it would be impossible to get her to change her mind. She released her mentor's pokemon and set sail again, traveling to Kanlet Town to begin a new journey.

Personality:

Anise is a quiet, soft-spoken girl with a fiery spirit and strong convictions. A curious glimmer flickers in her eyes, and mischief lurks beneath her coy smile. She is an intelligent young woman, quick to learn and observant of all that goes on around her. Still, she doesn't manage to come off as an especially well-learned person, but more as a girl who hasn't learned much yet, and is eager to discover the world around her.

She tends to be overly suspicious of people, though she does her best not to let it show, never taking their words at face value. She purposefully distances herself from others, and has a difficult time connecting with humans in general, preferring to spend her time with her pokemon instead. Her quiet type of stubbornness is rather unique, as she'll often listen to the advice of others but quickly brush it off and do exactly as she intended to in the beginning. The fact that she doesn't speak often leads most to believe she is shy, but she really has no problem talking to others, unless for some reason she finds them intimidating.

Though she is strong, when she becomes frightened of something it isn't just a simple fear, she becomes terrified of it. People who have managed to push her to that point of fear have no trouble pushing her around, as she panics and seems to lose her spirit completely.

She can be rather spiteful, and does have a bit of a mean streak running through her. Despite her kind words and warm smile, she is more concerned with herself than anyone else. She has never been the charitable type, and though she doesn't see going out of her way to help others as a chore, she has no trouble passing a person in need by. The thought to help others just doesn't enter into her mind, she is too focused on her goals to see much else. In her opinion, humans in general all deserve to have a bit of bad luck thrown their way. Though she is cynical, and a tad negative when it comes to the topic of people, she is certainly not a hateful person. Just a bit fed up with the state of the world.
